Gebru is a pianist from Ethiopia.  She studied Western classical music in Switzerland but also 6th century Ethiopian sacred music.  She became a nun and made records as fundraisers for an orphanage.  The music she played for at least thirty years has an almost pastoral ragtime feel - slow, grand and undefinable.
